Despite the Russian leadership’s statements about the capture of Kupyansk, the occupiers control only a few buildings in the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by Viktor Tregubov, head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group,<\/span> Ukrinform<\/span> reports<\/span><\/a> .<\/p>\n

He recalled that statements about full control of the settlement appeared at the end of November, however, enemy units were cut off on the northern outskirts of Kupyansk.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Russians hold only a few buildings in the northern parts of the city. Their victorious claims about capturing Kupyansk and moving south are their own fictional reality,\u201d Tregubov emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, the tactics of the occupation army are to storm small groups trying to penetrate deep into the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere can be many such groups at the same time, they climb in different directions like cockroaches,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have cut off Russian troops from supplies in Kupyansk,<\/a> Kharkiv Oblast, so they are trying to advance by bypassing the city from the sides.<\/p>\n

As is known, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an operation to clear Kupyansk<\/a> of Russian occupiers. About 60 Russian servicemen remain in the city.<\/p>\n

By the way, the activity of Russian troops in Kupyansk has decreased<\/a> , however, the intensity of operations in the Kharkiv region remains high – the enemy is trying to advance in the South-Slobozhansk direction.<\/p>\n
