Russian saboteurs were preparing explosions on cargo planes flying from Europe to the U.S. If the attacks had taken place, the world would have suffered a terrorist attack on a scale not seen since September 11, 2001.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Financial Times, citing European intelligence agencies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Intelligence officials have determined that the operation was part of a larger hybrid campaign that Moscow is ramping up in Europe. The saboteurs planned not only to blow up logistics centers but also to destroy cargo planes in mid-air on routes to the United States. This could have caused mass casualties and global shock.<\/span><\/p>\n

The secret service’s scheme was uncovered after the explosions at DHL centers in Poland, Germany, and the UK. Law enforcement officers established that the packages with magnesium fuses were sent from Lithuania. Those explosions were only the first stage – they planned to attack aviation next.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Poland and Lithuania have already charged at least 20 participants in the scheme. The group’s organizer fled to Azerbaijan, and the Russian intelligence services – the FSB, SVR and GRU – have publicly demanded his release.<\/span><\/p>\n

Intelligence reports indicate that the Kremlin is mass-recruiting Eastern Europeans and criminal groups, controlling them remotely via messengers and cryptocurrency. Germany emphasizes that the small incidents are part of a large hybrid operation that Moscow is preparing using KGB methods.<\/span><\/p>\n

Analysts believe that these actions are in line with NATO warnings: the Alliance stated back in 2023 that Russia could be preparing for a direct confrontation with Europe by 2029.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that China is not interested in ending the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the aggressor country announced an indictment against the “senior political leadership” of Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n
