On the night of December 12, three Russian regions reported airstrikes and explosions. In Yaroslavl and Tver, the effects of drone attacks were recorded, and in Smolensk, for the first time in a long time, a prolonged airstrike alert was declared.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The information is being reported by Russian media and local publications.<\/p>\n

Residents of Yaroslavl said that five to seven explosions were heard over the city at night. Flashes were visible in the sky, and later, thick black smoke. Videos that appeared on social networks show a glow and fire.<\/p>\n

A number of publics suggest that one of the facilities that may have been hit is a local oil refinery, although there has traditionally been no official confirmation of this. Locals say this is the second night in a row that drones have been operating over the city.<\/p>\n

Tver was the worst-hit city at night. Parts of a downed drone fell on a residential building on Osnabryutskaya Street. According to regional authorities, seven people were injured \u2014 six adults and a child. They are receiving medical care. <\/p>\n

The residents of the building were evacuated, and rescuers and the emergency services worked on the scene all night. The released footage shows flames, broken windows, and damaged apartments. <\/p>\n

Eyewitnesses say that the drone flew into an apartment on the first floor, after which a strong explosion was heard. All the windows in the entrance were broken, and debris damaged cars near the house. Residents said that they heard 5-6 explosions in different parts of the city, and later a column of smoke rose in the west of Tver. <\/p>\n

A long-term air alert was declared in Smolensk the previous evening, which lasted for a considerable period of time. Local authorities did not explain the reasons for its introduction, but Russian media suggested that it could be related to the risk of drone attacks.<\/p>\n

Previously, unconfirmed reports appeared on social media that a local CHP plant may have been hit, but there is no official information about the facility being damaged. Russian sources say that the data is currently being verified.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of December 11 , several regions of Russia were subjected to large-scale drone attacks, which caused fires at industrial facilities and disruptions in air traffic around Moscow.<\/a><\/p>\n
