For over two years, detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted covert wiretapping of Yuriy Kisel, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People faction and a close friend of Kvartal 95 co-founder Serhiy Shefir.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the publication “Mirror Weekly” with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n

According to the publication, the eavesdropping equipment was only recently dismantled, and Kisel himself was unaware of it. This has caused concern not only for the deputy but also for Sergei Shefir, who has maintained a close friendship with him for many years. Sources note that during the surveillance, they had numerous private conversations, including with government officials. Such contacts are considered confidential and sensitive for the presidential office.<\/p>\n

Zerkalo Nedeli clarifies that the wiretapping was not part of the “Midas” special operation, but also concerned possible corruption schemes in the highest echelons of power.<\/p>\n

Serhiy Shefir is a Ukrainian producer, co-founder of the Kvartal 95 studio, and former First Aide to the President of Ukraine (2019\u20132024). He is implicated in a NABU investigation into large-scale corruption schemes in the energy sector, known as the “Mindich Tapes.” According to investigators, the case involves money laundering through Energoatom and other state-owned enterprises totaling approximately $100 million.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the NABU and SAP are conducting a large-scale operation, “Operation Midas,” to expose corruption in the energy sector<\/a> . According to investigators, the activities of a high-level criminal organization controlling financial flows and personnel decisions in state energy structures have been established.<\/p>\n

Journalists from “Schemes” have identified the names of individuals who were notified of suspicion by NABU detectives<\/a> as part of an investigation into corruption in the energy sector. Timur Mindich is among those involved.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Zelenskyy imposed National Security and Defense Council sanctions against Kvartal-95 co-owner Timur Mindich and businessman Alexander Tsukerman<\/a> , who are linked to a corruption case in the energy sector.<\/p>\n

As noted, the State Border Service conducted an internal investigation and found that businessman Timur Mindich left Ukraine legally<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Incidentally, a puzzling situation has arisen regarding the case of businessmen Timur Mindich and Alexander Tsukerman’s departure abroad: the State Tax Service of Ukraine (GNU) refused to participate in the meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission<\/a> , which was supposed to investigate the incident.<\/p>\n
