The first round of talks between the delegations of the United States of America and Ukraine has concluded in Berlin. The talks lasted more than 5 hours and will continue on December 15.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the United States took place in Berlin on December 14. According to sources in the President’s Office, the meeting lasted more than 5 hours.<\/p>\n

During the first day, the parties did not disclose the content of the discussions. The Ukrainian side refrained from public comments on the results of the initial stage of the negotiations.<\/p>\n

According to Handelsblatt<\/a> , the next round of negotiations is scheduled for December 15. It is expected that the negotiations will continue with the participation of Ukraine’s international partners.<\/p>\n

According to German journalists, the American side is preliminary assessing the Berlin format of negotiations as one that has prospects for further dialogue.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Russian side expresses skepticism about the negotiation process. On the eve of the meeting, the Russian President’s advisor on foreign policy issues, Yuri Ushakov, told Russian media that the participation of Ukraine and European partners in relevant initiatives, according to him, is unlikely to be constructive.<\/p>\n

It is also reported that on the eve of the negotiations, Russia resumed shelling of Zaporizhia, which, according to journalists, increased doubts about the Kremlin’s real intentions.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the start of a meeting with representatives of the American side<\/a> , dedicated to security issues and coordination of joint steps.<\/p>\n
