The Verkhovna Rada supported the legislative establishment of a nationwide minute of silence every day at 9:00 a.m. and allowed the use of a national notification system for this purpose.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Parliament adopted as a basis Bill No. 14144, which removes technical restrictions and gives communities and cities the right to officially declare a minute of silence through civil defense systems and the media.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The document amends the Law on National Remembrance and the Civil Protection Code. The bill stipulates that a nationwide minute of silence for those killed as a result of Russia’s armed aggression be held daily at 9:00 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

State authorities and local governments must ensure that information about the beginning and end of the minute of silence is provided at enterprises, institutions and organizations within their jurisdiction. Announcements may be broadcast through media outlets regardless of ownership, as well as through the civil protection notification system.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Verkhovna Rada emphasized that the law will contribute to honoring the memory of fallen military and civilians, forming a culture of remembrance, and strengthening social unity through a common daily ritual.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Ukraine has changed its approach to air threat alerts: now the alert will be issued not by region, but by district.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, at the beginning of the plenary session, the European Parliament honored the memory of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation, MP from the European Solidarity faction, Andriy Parubiy, with a minute of silence.<\/a><\/p>\n
