Russia has deployed up to 350-360 thousand combat-ready troops on the territory of Belarus, who are not involved in the war against Ukraine.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This was stated by Roderich Kiesewetter, a foreign policy expert for the Christian Democratic Union of Germany and a member of the Bundestag,<\/span> ntv reports<\/a> .<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the German politician, Russian President Vladimir Putin is training hundreds of thousands of soldiers who are stationed in Belarus, a country bordering NATO states. Kiesewetter stressed that Russia maintains two army corps there.<\/span><\/p>\n

He stated that the years 2026 and 2027 could be particularly threatening for the security of the Alliance, primarily for the Baltic countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kiesewetter warned against illusions about the Kremlin’s intentions and urged not to count on negotiations or diplomatic contacts to change Putin’s strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, Russia is not waging a war in Ukraine very successfully from a military point of view, but thanks to the transfer of the economy to military rails, the Kremlin continues to form a large-scale reserve of personnel.<\/span><\/p>\n

The German MP emphasized that these troops are not being used on the Ukrainian front, which is causing serious concern among NATO allies.<\/span><\/p>\n

He called on Western countries to remain vigilant, strengthen their defense capabilities, and at the same time honestly inform the population about potential threats.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Germany transferred two Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, which were promised back in August, as well as the ninth IRIS-T system.<\/a><\/p>\n
