The National Police of Ukraine has exposed a large-scale criminal group that organized the sale of psychotropic substances throughout the country. As a result of a special operation, law enforcement officers seized drugs worth over 95 million hryvnias and detained the organizers of the scheme.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Operatives of the Department for Combating Drug Crime, together with investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police and employees of the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Main Police Department in Cherkasy region, documented the activities of the criminal group. Employees of the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy region were also involved in the special operation under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers established that the illegal business was organized by two men aged 31 and 45. They were engaged in the sale of psychotropic substances mephedrone and amphetamine in particularly large quantities. To store the prohibited substances, the defendants set up a warehouse in a garage in Kyiv. There, the psychotropic substances were packaged and packaged for further distribution.<\/p>\n

The drugs were sold through so-called master caches. In each previously prepared cache, 5 to 10 packages weighing 1 kilogram were left. The coordinates of the caches were passed on to wholesalers after a preliminary payment.<\/p>\n

The sale of psychotropic substances took place through Telegram channels, as well as by setting up bookmarks in various regions of Ukraine. Payment for the narcotics was made exclusively via a crypto wallet in order to conceal illegal activities.<\/p>\n

With the support of special forces of the Main Police Department in Kyiv and Cherkasy region, law enforcement officers conducted 16 searches in Kyiv, Cherkasy and Odessa regions. The searches took place at the places of residence and stay of the suspects, in vehicles, as well as in a room used for storing narcotics.<\/p>\n

During the investigation, 154 kilograms of mephedrone, 3.5 kilograms of amphetamine, electronic scales, packaging materials, computer equipment, mobile phones, foreign currency equivalent to over 3 million hryvnias, as well as draft notes were seized. <\/p>\n
