Australia has completed the transfer of M1A1 Abrams battle tanks to Ukraine, sending the final batch as part of defense support.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the publication, the last 12 tanks were delivered a few weeks ago. The bulk of the equipment \u2014 37 vehicles \u2014 arrived in Ukraine back in July, and the October shipment was the final stage of deliveries.<\/p>\n

The final shipment was delivered by a commercial cargo ship, escorted by five Australian Armed Forces personnel. The sea crossing took 55 days, after which the equipment arrived in Europe.<\/p>\n

The publication notes that the route and transportation details were not disclosed for security reasons to minimize risks during the transportation of combat vehicles.<\/p>\n

After arriving in Europe, the tanks underwent technical inspection and necessary repairs in Poland, and from there they were transferred to the Ukrainian side.<\/p>\n

In total, Australia has provided $1.7 billion in military and defense assistance to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Australia remains the largest non-NATO donor providing financial and military support to Kyiv.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukraine will receive over $70 million in additional military support from the governments of Australia and New Zealand.<\/a> The funding is aimed at strengthening air defense, providing ammunition, and supporting international arms supply initiatives.<\/p>\n

As reported, military support for Ukraine in 2025 risks becoming the lowest since the start of a full-scale war.<\/a><\/p>\n
