Ukraine has unveiled the appearance of the Bars cruise missile, which is already in serial use, for the first time. Photos of the product have appeared at the Museum of the Russian-Ukrainian War at the National Defense University of Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Journalists recalled that the existence of the Ukrainian Bars cruise missile officially became known in April, when the then Minister of Strategic Industry of Ukraine, Herman Smetanin, mentioned it among other long-range weapons, along with Peklo, Palanytsia, and Ruta.<\/p>\n

At the same time, there were no public images of the rocket until now. This gap was filled by the exhibition of the Museum of the Russian-Ukrainian War, which presented photos of the product, as well as a video of the launch of the rocket from a ground-based launcher using a rocket booster.<\/p>\n

According to the published materials, “Bars” is created according to the classical scheme. The missile is a medium-wing with a wingspan of about 2 meters and has a biplane tail. A small jet engine is placed above the fuselage, which simplifies the design and makes it possible to change engine suppliers without redesigning the hull.<\/p>\n

The missile’s fuselage is made of composite materials and consists of a minimum number of parts. This approach, as journalists noted, was chosen to speed up production.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the manufacturer and developer of the Bars missile are not officially disclosed. It is only known that it is a private, not a state-owned company.<\/p>\n

There are also no detailed technical specifications of the product. According to available information, the missile’s range is estimated to be within 700\u2013800 kilometers, and the mass of the warhead is probably tens of kilograms or about 100 kilograms.<\/p>\n

Defense Express journalists, citing their own sources, reported that the production and use of Bars cruise missiles is already on a massive scale. According to their data, there have been cases of simultaneous launches of about 100 such missiles at targets in Russia.<\/p>\n
