Former head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak continues to regularly contact President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy after his dismissal. According to journalists, their communication takes place not only by phone, but also during evening meetings in Koncha-Zaspa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the article, the journalists noted that after the corruption scandal related to the so-called “Mindich tapes,” Andriy Yermak was dismissed from the post of head of the President’s Office. At the same time, according to sources, he did not disappear from political life and continues to communicate with the head of state.<\/p>\n

The author of the article, Inna Vedernikova, draws attention to the fact that Volodymyr Zelensky’s public reaction after the scandal created expectations of a personnel reset and the appearance of new people in the president’s entourage.<\/p>\n

“At first, the shock of what was happening, and then Zelensky’s outwardly calm public reaction gave hope that qualitatively new people would appear in his environment,” Inna Vedernikova wrote.<\/p>\n

The journalist points out that the president had the opportunity to purge the power system of people like Andriy Yermak and Timur Mindich, but did not take advantage of it.<\/p>\n

“The key word is ‘could’. But he didn’t want to,” Inna Vedernikova noted.<\/p>\n

According to her, the resignation of Andriy Yermak was not a conscious political decision, but a forced step of self-preservation. At the same time, the process of appointing a new head of the OPU is being delayed, and interviews with candidates remain formal.<\/p>\n

Journalists reported that Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and Deputy Head of the President’s Office Pavlo Palis have already dropped out of the list of potential candidates for the position of head of the OPU. Also, the options of creating a military cabinet or a reformist model of the OPU have not been implemented.<\/p>\n

Separately, the material notes that, according to sources, Andriy Yermak continues personal communication with the president.<\/p>\n

“Yermak hasn’t gone anywhere. He just doesn’t sit in the office anymore and doesn’t manage processes 24\/7. But he’s constantly on the phone, and in the evenings he’s at the president’s house behind the fence in Koncha-Zaspa,” Inna Vedernikova wrote.<\/p>\n

According to journalists, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is considering the option of directly managing the Office of the President, reducing the role of its head to technical functions. Analytical powers in this case could be redistributed among other structures, in particular, the apparatus of the National Security and Defense Council.<\/p>\n

The material also states that despite the president’s active contacts with other representatives of the government, in particular the leadership of the parliament and the government, Andriy Yermak, surrounded by the head of state, according to journalists, is still not being written off.<\/p>\n

Earlier, political scientist Volodymyr Tsybulko said that the recent release from pretrial detention of three former employees of the State Security Department, a NABU detective, and the easing of the regime for Colonel Chervinsky are related to the changes on Bankova Street. However, Andriy Yermak still retains influence over the power structures.<\/a><\/p>\n
