A bridge near the settlement of Mayaki in the Odessa region has been hit by more than 20 drone attacks in the past 24 hours. As a result, travel is currently impossible, but authorities have deployed a pontoon bridge to ensure logistics.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery Oleksiy Kuleba during a conversation with journalists.<\/p>\n

According to the official, over 500 attacks from various types of weapons have been recorded over the past week. The main targets remain port infrastructure and logistics hubs.<\/p>\n

The government official paid special attention to the bridge in Mayaki, which is strategically important for the region.<\/p>\n

“I was just there, there was an attack on the Shahed UAV bridge right before our eyes. Fortunately, it did not hit the bridge, but the attacks have been going on constantly for the last day. There have been more than 20 UAV attacks on this bridge,” said Oleksiy Kuleba.<\/p>\n

A team of engineers is working on site, along with the head of the Recovery Agency, to assess the damage and coordinate repairs. The work is being carried out in difficult conditions due to the threat from the air.<\/p>\n

“Currently, this bridge is impossible to pass through, but we are doing everything possible to open it as soon as possible. We see how to do it. We understand how to do it. I am sure that if the military helps us do everything to repel UAV attacks, we will be able to do it,” Kuleba said.<\/p>\n

To ensure communication, a pontoon bridge was deployed at 4:00 p.m. on December 19. Its operation is complicated by safety protocols, constant alarms, and the need for reverse traffic under the control of the State Emergency Service and the police.<\/p>\n

Despite logistical difficulties, the authorities are keeping an eye on the supply of settlements on the other side. Food and essential goods are being delivered regularly, and Ukrposhta vehicles are providing social and postal services.<\/p>\n

“We will develop a separate plan to expand logistics capabilities. We see it as follows. Within a week, we will deploy two alternative logistics routes. One will be permanent, one will be another pontoon bridge,” added Oleksiy Kuleba.<\/p>\n
