Experts warn of a minor impact on power systems, satellite navigation, and space infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swpc.noaa.gov\/#\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NOAA<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p> According to experts, the geomagnetic situation will change from unstable to active on December 22 and 23. The cause will be a flow of fast solar wind that comes out of coronal holes on the Sun and interacts with the Earth&#8217;s magnetosphere.<\/p>\n<p> According to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the British MetOffice, a magnetic storm of the lowest level on the NOAA scale \u2014 G1 \u2014 is expected. The geomagnetic activity index Kp may reach a value of 5.<\/p>\n<p> Experts say that a magnetic storm of this magnitude does not pose a serious threat. However, there may be slight fluctuations in the operation of power grids, a minor impact on the control of satellites in orbit, and changes in navigation systems.<\/p>\n<p> It is also reported that during the storm it is possible to observe the aurora borealis at high latitudes. Certain species of migratory animals can sense fluctuations in the Earth&#8217;s magnetic field.<\/p>\n<p> Solar activity has remained moderate over the past 24 hours. Six active regions have been recorded on the visible disk of the Sun, one of which is rapidly developing and has already caused a moderate solar flare.<\/p>\n<p> Experts emphasize that no coronal mass ejections have been recorded directly towards Earth so far.
