Petro Poroshenko, the fifth president and leader of the European Solidarity party, congratulated Ukrainian diplomats<\/a> on their professional holiday \u2013 Diplomatic Service Day \u2013 on social media.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Today I want to address the people whose work isn’t always visible, but whose results are felt by the entire country. I want to address Ukrainian diplomats. I thank you for your daily, responsible, and often behind-the-scenes work in the interests of the Ukrainian state and the Ukrainian people. For your composure, cool calculation, and ability to hold your own where the country’s future is at stake\u2014in negotiations, decisions, and international politics,” the fifth president wrote.<\/p>\n

“You were the ones who pioneered systemic international support for Ukraine in the war for our independence, which began back in 2014. You were the ones who laid down and consistently built the policy of sanctions pressure on the aggressor\u2014from the first targeted decisions to the current system of multi-level restrictions,” Poroshenko recalled.<\/p>\n

“You know our challenges and needs. You know our weaknesses and potential. And it is thanks to your work that the world understands what Ukraine is fighting for, why this struggle is of global significance, and why supporting Ukraine is an investment in the security and freedom of a democratic world,” Petro Poroshenko stated.<\/p>\n

“It is crucial that diplomatic efforts continue to be combined with political responsibility, effective parliamentary interaction, and a clear state position. Only in this way will Ukraine remain strong and independent. I thank you for your service to Ukraine, for your professional dignity and dedication. I wish you strength, wisdom, and perseverance,” Poroshenko wrote.<\/p>\n
