Russian forces launched a massive air strike on Ukraine, using over 600 drones and dozens of missiles. The primary target of the attack was energy infrastructure, including in the western regions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this.<\/p>\n

According to her, immediately after the overnight shelling, the government coordinated the work of all services to eliminate the consequences of the attack.<\/p>\n

Svyrydenko emphasized that the attack was deliberate and carried out on Christmas Eve, when the enemy was attempting to deprive Ukrainians of light, heat, and a sense of security. Due to damage to power facilities across the country, emergency power outage schedules were imposed, which were lifted after the power grid stabilized.<\/p>\n

Ukrenergo noted that this is the ninth massive attack on Ukraine’s power grid since the beginning of the year. As of the morning of December 23, the Rivne region remained almost completely without power. Outages were also reported in the Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, and Zhytomyr regions, as well as in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv.<\/p>\n

Additionally, in the Odesa region, cleanup efforts continue following several consecutive strikes on energy infrastructure, leaving a significant number of customers without power. Emergency restoration efforts will begin as soon as the security situation permits. <\/p>\n
