In July, the UK government banned Palestine Action after its activists infiltrated the country’s largest airbase, RAF Brize Norton, and damaged two Voyager military aircraft. A total of eight activists are accused of infiltrating military and defense facilities associated with Israel. The charges were filed before the organization was officially banned.<\/p>\n

Following their arrest, several activists went on hunger strike. One of them refused food for over 50 days, resulting in him and other protesters being hospitalized.<\/p>\n

Greta Thunberg called the detainees “political prisoners” and called on the British authorities to release them on bail, lift the ban on Palestine Action, and ensure free communication.<\/p>\n
