On the night of December 24, Russian forces launched an airstrike on Zaporizhia using guided bombs. The shelling caused extensive destruction of civilian infrastructure and injuries to civilians.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As reported<\/a> by the National Police and the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration, an air raid warning signal was sounded in the city at around 03:35. Shortly before that, residents were warned about the activation of Russian tactical aviation and the threat of the use of anti-aircraft missiles. <\/p>\n

After a series of powerful explosions, it became known that the city had been hit by three aerial bombs. Initial reports indicated damage to residential buildings and the burning of garages and cars, but later the scale of the destruction turned out to be much more serious. <\/p>\n

According to law enforcement officials, the blast wave damaged multi-story residential buildings, private and municipal transport, an educational institution, and also partially destroyed the territory of a garage cooperative. Head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov specified that at least 13 apartment buildings were damaged – their windows were broken, balconies and loggias were damaged. <\/p>\n

Municipal services are already working at the sites of the impacts, and specialists from district administrations are conducting surveys to record all damage and provide further assistance to residents.<\/p>\n

As of this morning, two people were reported injured, but the number of victims later increased to three. Women aged 75 and 35, as well as a 46-year-old man, required medical attention.<\/p>\n

Police continue to work at the sites of the strikes, providing assistance to the victims and documenting another war crime committed by the Russian army against the civilian population.<\/p>\n
