Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that about 700-800 billion US dollars are needed to rebuild the country after the war. To this end, Ukraine, together with the United States of America, plans to create a number of investment funds, in particular the US-Ukrainian Fund.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said this while talking to journalists.<\/p>\n

Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the statement on December 27, answering journalists’ questions. He said that work is currently underway on a roadmap for Ukraine’s long-term development in cooperation with the United States of America.<\/p>\n

“We are working primarily on a roadmap for Ukraine’s prosperity. Our vision together with the United States of America until 2040, key elements of an agreement on investment and future prosperity,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n

The President noted that the economic plans cover a number of strategic areas. These include national goals, life expectancy, refugee return, the level of gross domestic product per capita, the creation of new jobs, and security guarantees.<\/p>\n

He separately mentioned the issues of access to international markets and Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, as well as macroeconomic stability.<\/p>\n

“We estimate that we need about 700-800 billion for reconstruction. There is a strategy for a larger amount, but I do not want to talk about it in more detail yet,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.<\/p>\n

According to the President, Ukraine and the United States share a common vision for the creation of several funds. These include the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund, the Sovereign Investment Platform of Ukraine, the Ukraine Development Fund, and the Ukraine Growth and Opportunity Fund.<\/p>\n

“And we plan to have an American-Ukrainian reconstruction investment fund. And the groups are also discussing the issues of a human capital fund and return support,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n

Recall that the European Union, together with Denmark, Germany, France and Lithuania, launched the EU4Reconstruction project, which is to support the reconstruction of Ukraine within the framework of the Team Europe initiative<\/a> . Its budget is 37.5 million euros, and its implementation will last until June 30, 2028.<\/p>\n
