The European Solidarity faction demands an immediate meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and people’s deputies to inform the Verkhovna Rada about the results of negotiations with Donald Trump on a peaceful settlement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of “European Solidarity”.<\/p>\n

In the statement, the faction appealed to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk with the initiative to urgently convene a special session of parliament and invite the president and representatives of the Ukrainian negotiating team to it. The “EU” also proposes to organize a meeting between Zelensky and all factions on December 30-31.<\/p>\n

The party emphasizes that MPs learn from the media about the existence of a 20-point plan, which is supposedly 90% agreed with partners. At the same time, the parliament does not receive official information about the progress of the negotiations, although the issues of elections or referendums during martial law fall exclusively within the powers of the Verkhovna Rada.<\/p>\n

European Solidarity emphasizes that the first and key point of any negotiations with Russia should be a complete, unconditional, and comprehensive ceasefire, which should be a test of Moscow’s readiness for real peace.<\/p>\n

The faction also draws attention to the fact that during a joint briefing between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Donald Trump admitted the possibility of ratification of the future security agreement by the US Congress, while the Ukrainian parliament remains excluded from the peace process.<\/p>\n

The EU insists on fully informing the Verkhovna Rada about the progress of the negotiations and involving the parliament in the peace process. The statement also mentions the need to reformat the parliamentary majority, create a pro-European coalition, and form professional working groups involving specialists with experience working with American and European partners.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that a new telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is planned in the near future.<\/a><\/p>\n
