Japan transferred about 47.7 million euros for the reconstruction of Ukraine and agreed to launch a new phase of the Emergency Recovery Program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

During a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, the parties confirmed the transfer of grant funds in the amount of 8.8 billion Japanese yen within the fourth phase of the Emergency Recovery Program. This amount is about 47.7 million euros.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The funds received will be used for humanitarian demining, energy infrastructure maintenance, water supply system restoration, public infrastructure development in the regions, as well as projects in the fields of public health, security, and education.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Development emphasized that the funding will strengthen the resilience of communities, particularly in frontline regions, where recovery needs remain critical.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Japanese side also reported that the country’s parliament has approved an additional budget. This decision allows for the start of the fifth phase of the Emergency Recovery Program and the continuation of grant projects and technical support to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects, the activities of the JUPITeR platform, and the further involvement of Japanese companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine. Within the next phase, they plan to focus on the reconstruction of housing for internally displaced persons, the development of port infrastructure, and the supply of heavy construction equipment.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Special attention was paid to housing construction. Japan has created a special task force for housing rehabilitation and plans to conduct technical consultations to introduce Japanese technologies in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The parties also discussed cooperation in the areas of transport logistics, energy efficiency, critical infrastructure protection, and the implementation of joint cultural initiatives.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Sweden provided an additional 63.8 million euros to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine, increasing its total contribution to 203 million euros.<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukraine has received over $125 million in concessional aid from the World Bank. The funds will go to support education and healthcare.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
