From January 1, 2026, Ukraine officially joined the European Union’s single roaming area “Roaming like at home”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the areas of electronic communications, radio frequency spectrum and postal services.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

From now on, Ukrainian subscribers can call, send SMS and use mobile internet in all 27 EU countries at the same rates as in Ukraine, without additional roaming charges. Similar conditions will apply to subscribers from EU countries when traveling to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The National Commission called this decision historic, as it officially integrates Ukraine into the single EU roaming space and ensures unhindered mobile communication when crossing borders.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“Ukraine has become the first country outside the EU and the European Economic Area to receive approval to join the single roaming zone “Roaming like at home,” the department noted.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Free access to emergency services is also maintained throughout the Ukraine-EU roaming zone.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The regulator explained that previously, when traveling abroad, subscribers had to separately activate paid roaming, and the tariffs varied depending on the country. From January 1, 2026, roaming will be included in most tariff packages by default.<\/p>\n

In fact, a single telecommunications “digital bridge” has been launched between Ukraine and the EU, which will simplify communication for families, travelers, students, and migrant workers.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that a 5G pilot project will be launched in two cities in Ukraine within a few weeks.<\/a><\/p>\n
