The Russian occupiers have begun equipping Shahed kamikaze drones with infrared searchlights to complicate the work of Ukrainian air defense at night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> radio technology expert Serhiy Beskrestnov.<\/p>\n

According to him, infrared light, which is invisible to the human eye, creates a strong “glow” for night vision cameras and thermal imagers. This makes it more difficult for Ukrainian anti-aircraft drones and aircraft to track and destroy targets.<\/p>\n

In addition to blinding devices, the expert drew attention to the enemy’s new tactical approaches. Russia is increasingly using online control of drones via radio modems, in particular those produced by the Kalashnikov concern. This allows drones to be controlled in real time at a distance of up to 70 kilometers and to conduct reconnaissance of air defense positions. <\/p>\n

Beskrestnov also advises mobile fire teams to use spectrum analyzers more actively to detect signals in the 1300-1500 MHz range. Such signals may indicate the presence of drones with cameras or drone repeaters.<\/p>\n

The expert emphasized that the appearance of a stable signal from a UAV flying in a circle often means that it is a repeater for other strike drones. Such targets are prioritized for destruction.<\/p>\n

He also stressed the importance of rapid information exchange between units. According to him, bureaucracy often slows down the reaction, while the fixation of drones with cameras over positions usually indicates the preparation of a strike. In such cases, the military is advised to minimize movement and carefully camouflage the equipment.<\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that two more Patriot air defense systems were deployed to protect Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.<\/a><\/p>\n
