Ukraine needs $800 billion to rebuild its economy over the next decade. This amount does not include defense spending and could be reduced if effective security guarantees are in place.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated during a meeting of national security advisors of the “Coalition of the Willing” countries that Ukraine has presented a framework program for economic prosperity for the next 10 years.<\/p>\n

According to the head of government, in recent weeks the Ukrainian team has been actively discussing with the United States the transition from a war economy to a sustainable model of long-term development and security. International financial institutions and donor structures have been involved in the work.<\/p>\n

“Over the past few weeks, our team has been actively discussing with the US the transition from a war economy to a sustainable model of long-term prosperity and security for Ukraine. We have the advantage of the systematic work done by various institutions in Ukraine and the donor platform, including the World Bank, to assess reconstruction and recovery needs,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.<\/p>\n

She clarified that key international players, including the World Bank, IFC, BlackRock, and the United States, have already been involved in the discussions, which will form the financial component of the future program.<\/p>\n

According to Svyrydenko, the framework program combines reconstruction needs, financing mechanisms, and priority investment areas.<\/p>\n

“From today’s perspective, Ukraine’s financial needs for the next decade are enormous. This is 800 billion US dollars<\/strong> , which includes macro-financial stability, damage compensation, reconstruction needs, and finances for economic growth,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.<\/p>\n

She stressed that the amount does not include defense spending. The Prime Minister added that security is fundamental to economic recovery and creates conditions for reducing overall financial needs.<\/p>\n

“Security is basic and most important for economic recovery. The next key element is macro-financial stability, because without it it is impossible to talk about attracting investments,” Yulia Svyridenko concluded.<\/p>\n

By the way, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that about 700\u2013800 billion US dollars are needed to rebuild the country after the war<\/a> . To this end, Ukraine, together with the United States of America, plans to create a number of investment funds, in particular the American-Ukrainian fund.<\/p>\n

Recall that the European Union, together with Denmark, Germany, France and Lithuania, launched the EU4Reconstruction project, which is to support the reconstruction of Ukraine within the framework of the Team Europe initiative<\/a> . Its budget is 37.5 million euros, and its implementation will last until June 30, 2028.<\/p>\n
