US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has sharply criticized the Cuban government, calling it a “big problem.” At the same time, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has said he is ready to send the army to Venezuela in the face of US actions in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marco Rubio, during an interview with the program Meet The Press, emphasized the serious concern of the United States regarding the political and economic situation in Cuba. He characterized the government as problematic and noted that Washington’s critical position towards Cuba remains unchanged.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cuban leadership has big problems,\u201d Rubio said.<\/p>\n

According to him, the United States is closely monitoring the situation on the island due to human rights violations and restrictions on political freedoms, as well as a deep economic crisis.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Miguel Diaz-Canel expressed his willingness to support Venezuela militarily after the capture of Nicolas Maduro by American forces during a mass rally in Havana.<\/p>\n

“For Venezuela, we are ready to give even our own blood!”, the Cuban president emphasized.<\/p>\n

At the rally, he condemned the bombing of Caracas and called the US actions an act of terrorism. The president also accused Washington of kidnapping Maduro and called on citizens to \u201cstand up against fascism.\u201d<\/p>\n

The day before, US President Donald Trump stressed the need to stabilize the region and support the people of Cuba and Venezuela.<\/p>\n

“We want to help people. It’s very similar (to Venezuela – ed.) in the sense that we want to help people in Cuba,” Trump said.<\/p>\n

Journalists note that after Maduro’s capture, some Venezuelans perceived the event as a liberation. In the city of Cucuta, crowds celebrated in the streets, expressing hope for quick change and family reunions.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople will return. They will look for work, they will go home. Families will be reunited. Thank God, there will be no more people scattered all over the world,\u201d said an elderly Venezuelan.<\/p>\n

At the same time, experts note that countries in the region will continue to closely monitor developments and Cuba’s role in Venezuela.<\/p>\n
