On the night of January 5, Russia launched strikes on Kyiv, killing one person and injuring others. The attack also caused significant damage in the Kyiv region, particularly in the Fastiv district.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.<\/p>\n

According to him, in the Obolon district, a four-story building of a private medical institution, where an inpatient department was operating, was hit.<\/p>\n

“Out of 26 patients from a private clinic in the Obolon district, 16 were transported to municipal hospitals in the capital,” Vitaliy Klitschko said.<\/p>\n

According to him, as of now, there are no known casualties from the attack.<\/p>\n

“Currently, four people have been injured as a result of being hit in a private medical facility in the capital. Two of them are in serious condition,” Vitaliy Klitschko said.<\/p>\n

The mayor also confirmed the death of a person.<\/p>\n

“One man died while receiving treatment at a medical facility,” Vitaliy Klitschko said.<\/p>\n

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine noted<\/a> that the fire in the building of the medical institution was extinguished. During the inspection of the premises, rescuers discovered the body of the deceased. 25 people were evacuated from the building.<\/p>\n

After that, the authorities reported on the consequences of the attack in the Kyiv region. The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, stated that peaceful towns and villages of the region, residential buildings and critical infrastructure facilities were under attack.<\/p>\n

In the Fastiv district, a civilian born in 1951 died as a result of an enemy attack. His body was discovered while extinguishing a fire in his own house.<\/p>\n

According to available information, 7 private and 1 multi-story residential buildings, garages, 2 cars, as well as production and warehouse facilities were damaged in the Fastiv district.<\/p>\n

The city of Slavutych was cut off from power due to an enemy attack. All critical infrastructure facilities were switched to backup power, and the city was provided with heat and water.<\/p>\n

The authorities urged residents of Kyiv and the region not to ignore air raid signals and to stay in shelters, as the enemy attack continued.<\/p>\n
