General Vasyl Malyuk is completing his work as head of the Security Service of Ukraine, leaving behind one of the most productive periods in the history of the SBU.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During Malyuk’s tenure, the SBU conducted a number of operations that directly influenced the course of the war. One of the most significant was the special operation “Web”<\/a> , during which the Service hit 41 Russian military aircraft at four airfields at once.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A separate direction was the attacks on the Crimean Bridge. In 2022, the SBU blew it up with a truck loaded with explosives. In 2023, there was an attack with Sea Baby naval drones. In 2025, the Service carried out an underwater explosion.<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Under Malyuk’s leadership, the SBU created and launched the Sea Baby naval combat drones. As a result, Ukrainian forces hit 14 Russian ships and effectively broke the Russian dominance in the Black Sea. The SBU also hit a Russian Varshavyanka-class submarine<\/a> in the port of Novorossiysk for the first time in history using an underwater drone.<\/p>\n

The SBU also actively worked to eliminate war criminals and traitors. During this period, Ilya Kiva, Vladlen Tatarsky, Armen Sarkisyan, Valeriy Trankovsky, Lieutenant General Igor Kirilov, and others were eliminated.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Another direction was the systematic work on the Russian oil refining industry. The SBU dealt deep blows to the facilities that provide financing for the war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In parallel, the Service has strengthened counterintelligence. Since 2022, the SBU has exposed 128 Russian spy networks, which included 563 individuals. Investigators have announced more than 3,800 suspicions of treason. According to the Service, the SBU prevents about 80% of terrorist attacks that Russian special services plan in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Malyuk paid special attention to the internal cleansing of the SBU. During this time, the Service exposed dozens of Russian agents within its own ranks, and the detention of individual high-ranking officials took place with his personal participation.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The SBU units have become a full-fledged part of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The Service’s fighters participated in the liberation of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kherson regions, Zmiiniy Island, and in the Kursk operation. The Special Operations Center “A” is consistently among the three most effective units in terms of the number of enemy equipment and manpower destroyed using UAVs.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The period of leadership of Vasyl Malyuk is already being called one of the most productive in the history of the SBU.<\/p>\n
