Japan will transfer 66 units of technical equipment to Ukraine for frontline regions within the framework of the Emergency Recovery and Reconstruction Project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The delivery will be supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and will cover regions that are constantly under attack.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In particular, Ukraine will receive 20 modular Ukrposhta branches for frontline settlements where stationary post offices have been destroyed or damaged by hostilities. Such modules will operate as full-fledged postal hubs and provide postal and financial services.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Japan will also provide 40 units of heavy equipment for clearing rubble and providing municipal services in Sumy, Zaporizhia, and Chernihiv regions. Separately, a modern training simulator and five units of construction and cargo equipment are planned for the training center in Bila Tserkva, where heavy equipment operators are trained.<\/p>\n

Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba emphasized that Japan’s support remains systemic and critically important for frontline communities, which are under attack every day.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, this assistance allows communities to recover faster, provide basic services to people, and increase resilience in times of war.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Maryna Denysiuk noted that Ukrposhta’s modular branches will provide continuous access to services, and additional equipment will become an operational resource for restoring infrastructure in the affected regions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The procurement will be carried out by the Japanese side, and the supply of equipment to Ukrainian cities will continue over the next six months.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Development also recalled that since 2023, Ukraine has received over $700 million through technical and grant assistance projects from the Japanese government, implemented jointly with JICA. The funds were directed to energy, transport, medicine, education, water supply, humanitarian demining, and the restoration of municipal infrastructure.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Japan transferred about 47.7 million euros for the reconstruction of Ukraine and agreed to launch a new phase of the Emergency Recovery Program.<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Japanese government has approved a record budget bill for the next fiscal year, allocating over 9 trillion yen to strengthen defense.<\/a><\/p>\n
