Snowfall began in Kyiv overnight, and 264 pieces of special equipment were deployed to the city streets. Municipal services are working in an intensified mode to keep roads and sidewalks passable.<\/strong><\/p>\n

First of all, municipal workers clear snow and treat main highways, bridges, slopes and ascents with anti-icing agents. Separately, manual cleaning crews work: 132 workers in 24 crews clean public transport stops, narrow sidewalks, stairs, safety islands and pedestrian crossings.<\/p>\n

In the areas adjacent to the buildings, snow is cleared by employees of municipal management companies. In the parks and squares, specialists from “Zelenbud” were involved in the work – 69 units of equipment and over 750 employees work there.<\/p>\n

According to the forecast, cloudy weather, sleet and rain, fog, and ice are expected in Kyiv on Monday, January 6. There will be ice on the roads, and the daytime temperature will range from 0 to 2 degrees below zero.<\/p>\n

City authorities are urging drivers to keep a safe distance and be careful behind the wheel, and pedestrians to be careful on sidewalks and use reflective elements in the dark.<\/p>\n
