German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Ukraine is currently on the brink of a humanitarian energy crisis amid ongoing Russian attacks and Vladimir Putin’s unwillingness to cease fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated<\/a> in his letter to the leading parliamentary factions of the CDU\/CSU and SPD, reports ZDF.<\/p>\n

In his address, Merz accused Russian authorities of war crimes, noting that for the fourth winter since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has been carrying out, in his words, “the most brutal attacks” on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The Chancellor emphasized that the consequences of these attacks have led to a critical situation in the energy sector, which has signs of a humanitarian crisis.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Merz noted that the German federal government is committed to ending the war, but, according to him, this is only possible with real and reliable security guarantees for Ukraine from the United States and European countries.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Russian army had begun to destroy energy regions in Ukraine<\/a> , using scorched earth tactics.<\/p>\n

As reported, on Wednesday, October 22, emergency power outages were implemented in Kyiv, Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.<\/a><\/p>\n
