A sharp cold snap is expected in Ukraine on January 10-11 – in a number of regions the temperature will drop to -23 degrees Celsius. Snow, blizzards, and ice are forecast before the sharp cold snap.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> the State Emergency Service.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to forecasts, weather conditions will become significantly more difficult on January 8-9. In the western regions, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr regions,<\/strong> 10 to 25 centimeters of snow will fall, blizzards and wind gusts up to 15-18 m\/s are possible. Snowdrifts will form on the roads.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In Kyiv and Chernihiv<\/strong> regions, forecasters predict heavy snow and sleet, snowdrifts, blizzards and ice. In the south of Kyiv and Chernihiv<\/strong> regions, as well as in Sumy<\/strong> and Cherkasy regions<\/strong> , snow with rain and ice in places are expected.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The most noticeable cold snap will come on January 10-11. In the western and northern regions, as well as in Vinnytsia<\/strong> and Cherkasy regions,<\/strong> the temperature at night will drop to 14-20 degrees below zero, in places – to 23 degrees, and during the day it will remain at 9-15 degrees below zero.<\/p>\n

In Kirovohrad<\/strong> and Poltava<\/strong> regions, temperatures are forecast to be 6-12 degrees below zero. In the south, east of the country, and Dnipropetrovsk region, temperatures will range from 4 degrees below zero to 4 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n

Rescuers urge drivers and pedestrians to be as careful as possible, take weather conditions into account when planning trips, and follow safety rules. <\/p>\n
