Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is considering a scenario in which his country would join the deployment of a multinational force in Ukraine after a ceasefire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported<\/span><\/a> by CTV News.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Carney, the deployment of Canadian troops in Ukraine is currently only a “possibility,” not a final decision.<\/span><\/p>\n

He emphasized that joining a multinational force would have a much greater effect than if Canada acted alone.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Prime Minister said that Canada’s initial assistance could consist of training. In this context, he recalled that Canadian soldiers are already training Ukrainian military personnel in Poland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carney previously stated that his government’s efforts to build up military forces would help Canada join in ensuring security in Ukraine after the war.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been building this bench and will continue to build it,\u201d he emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, officials from some European countries hope to deploy up to 30,000 peacekeepers in Ukraine<\/a> as part of the deployment of a foreign contingent after the ceasefire.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian and French presidents and the British Prime Minister signed a declaration<\/a> of intent regarding the future deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the UK Defense Secretary John Healy said that his country is ready to send its military personnel to Ukraine<\/a> , but only after peace is achieved. The country has already identified military units that it can send to Ukraine<\/a> , and is ready to quickly transfer them after a possible peace agreement is reached.<\/p>\n

As is known, France, Germany, and Turkey have declared their readiness to send a peacekeeping contingent<\/a> to Ukraine after the end of the war.<\/p>\n
