The United States of America conducted an operation to seize the Venezuelan-bound oil tanker Mariner, which was sailing under the Russian flag.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported<\/span><\/a> by Reuters, citing sources.<\/span><\/p>\n

As it became known, the US Coast Guard pursued a ship moving across the Atlantic for more than two weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to officials, the operation to land troops on the tanker was carried out by the Coast Guard in conjunction with the US military.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is noted that during the seizure of the vessel, Russian military ships, including a submarine, were nearby.<\/span><\/p>\n

The operation took place after a sanctioned tanker slipped through a US naval blockade and repelled attempts by the Coast Guard to board it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Such actions could negatively impact relations between the United States and the Russian Federation, increasing tensions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among other things, US officials told Reuters that the Coast Guard had intercepted another tanker linked to Venezuela in Latin American waters.<\/span><\/p>\n
