Since the start of Wednesday, January 7, 140 combat clashes have been recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk sector, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces have repelled 44 enemy assaults.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this as of 16:00.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Shelling of the border area<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Border communities in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions suffered as a result of artillery shelling by Russian forces. The villages of Klyusy, Khrenovka, and Arkhipovka in the Chernihiv region, as well as Ulanovo, Studenok, Bessalovka, and Ryzhevka in the Sumy region, came under fire.<\/p>\n

Situation in the directions<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Severo-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy assaults. The enemy launched 39 attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and populated areas, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the South Slobozhansky direction, the Defense Forces repelled six attacks, with four more clashes ongoing. The enemy is attempting to advance in the areas of Vovchanskie Khutory, Vovchansk, Staritsa, Zelenoye, Tykhoye, and in the direction of Vilcha and Ternovaya.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions eight times near Stepnaya Novoselivka, Peschanoye, Borovskoy Andreyevka, and in the direction of Novaya Kruglyakovka and Kupyansk. Two battles are ongoing.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Liman sector, Russian troops carried out 12 attacks in the areas of Novogorovka, Novovodanoye, Derilove, Kolodtsy, Zarechnoye, Mirny, and Shandrigolovoye. Three clashes remain active.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

No enemy offensive actions were recorded in the Slavyansk direction.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attempted to break through the defenses nine times in the areas of Vasukivka, Minkivka, Chasovy Yar, and Bondarne. The battle continues.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Konstantinovka direction, 14 assault actions were recorded near Konstantinovka, Oleksandro-Shultinoye, Kleban-Byk, Yablonovka, Rusiny Yar, and in the direction of Sofiyivka. Two clashes are ongoing.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The enemy remains most active in the Pokrovsk direction. Here, Russian troops have launched 52 offensive attempts in the areas of Shakhovo, Nikanorovka, Fedorovka, Dorozhnoye, Rodinskoye, Mirnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachnoye, Molodetskoye, and in the direction of Novopavlovka and Filial. Defense forces are holding off the pressure, with six battles still ongoing.<\/p>\n

In the Aleksandrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 19 assaults in the areas of Zelenaya Roshcha, Aleksandrograd, Yanvarskoye, Stepnoye, Vishnevoye, Verbovoye, Krasnogorskoye, Rybnoye, and Yegorovka. Five battles remain active.<\/p>\n

In the Hulyaipole direction, 24 military clashes occurred near Dobropolye, Sladkoe, Varvarovka, Zelenoye, Hulyaipole and Belogorye, five of which are ongoing.<\/p>\n

In the Orekhov direction, the enemy attacked three times in the direction of Stepnogorsk.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Dnieper direction, the enemy twice unsuccessfully attempted to advance in the area of the Antonovsky Bridge.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In other areas, no significant changes in the situation were recorded.<\/p>\n
