The White House announced that the United States plans to prosecute the crew of an oil tanker seized by the US Coast Guard and military.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was stated<\/span><\/a> by spokeswoman Caroline Levitt.<\/span><\/p>\n

She said that the seized ship belonged to the Venezuelan “shadow fleet” and was transporting sanctioned oil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Separately, she emphasized that a court order for arrest had been issued for the tanker, meaning that the crew is subject to prosecution for violating the law.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if necessary, it (the crew \u2014 ed.) will be delivered to the United States for such prosecution,\u201d Levitt added.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to her, the United States is not afraid of aggravating relations with Russia, and US President Donald Trump will comply with American laws no matter what.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the United States of America conducted an operation to seize the oil tanker Mariner<\/a> , bound for Venezuela and flying the Russian flag.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Russia reacted to the seizure by the United States of an oil tanker<\/a> flying the Russian flag – the Foreign Ministry demands that the American side treat the Russians on board humanely.<\/p>\n
