Putin\u2019s revenge on Trump for the oil tankers \u2014 firing the Oreshnik into the fields of Lviv \u2014 was, as usual, both senseless and merciless. A textbook case of rage born of impotence: unable to defend his own ships, he lashes out at Ukraine instead.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The same applies to the openly sadistic attempts to freeze Ukrainian cities. The situation in Kyiv is difficult, but not as catastrophic as it could have been. The Dnipro is already lit. Our air-defence forces, energy workers, and utility crews have learned to achieve the seemingly impossible<\/p>\n

What is the result? Every major intelligence service in the world has seen just how stupid and inaccurate this supposedly formidable Putin \u201cnutcracker\u201d really is. It flies brightly \u2014 and misses its target.<\/p>\n

The most sensitive issue for Putin is the price of oil. He has already lost in Venezuela; he may yet lose in Iran. Production will increase, and prices will fall. The Russian economy has no alternative source of stability. Oil sales are the backbone of the state budget.<\/p>\n\t\t
