Amid heating outages in Kyiv, reports emerged of water draining from heating systems in buildings. The Kyiv City State Administration clarified that these actions are a necessary technical measure and do not indicate a long-term heat outage.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Kyiv City State Administration noted that water is drained from in-house heating systems if the coolant circulation is temporarily interrupted during freezing temperatures. This is necessary to prevent water from freezing and damaging pipes and equipment.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The administration emphasized that this procedure is used even when a heat outage may last only a few hours or a day, and does not mean long-term heating problems.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Kyiv City State Administration added that similar recommendations have been in effect in Ukraine for approximately 20 years, and the decision to drain water is made by the responsible person in consultation with the energy supplier.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, critical infrastructure in Kyiv was damaged following a massive combined attack by the enemy<\/a> . Nearly 6,000 apartment buildings were left without heat, and water supply outages are also being reported across the city.<\/p>\n
