The Security Service of Ukraine has issued a further notice of suspicion to Alexey Yamakida, former commander of the 44th Separate Special Purpose Long-Range Aviation Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces. According to investigators, he ordered missile strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Law enforcement officials have gathered new evidence indicating that Russian troops deliberately destroyed civilian infrastructure in Ukraine using missiles and attack drones. The investigation has established that Colonel Alexei Yamakidi was one of the commanders involved in making these decisions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the SBU, new attacks have been documented in which Yamakidi ordered the use of 9-S-7760 Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missile systems to strike Ukrainian energy facilities.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Based on the collected materials, investigators informed the Russian colonel of a new in absentia charge under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438, and Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine\u2014war crimes committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, resulting in the death of people.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The SBU recalled that in the summer of 2025, Yamakidi had already received in absentia suspicion for other episodes of missile attacks on Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Investigations are being conducted jointly with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
