Germany is probably considering the option of deporting Ukrainian men from the country when their temporary protection status expires.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In particular, Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed dissatisfaction that young Ukrainian men who could defend their country were living in Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n

Later, German government spokesman Stefan Cornelius explained that the chancellor was not the only one who held this opinion.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, Germany is not interested in “Ukraine losing human potential in younger age groups.”<\/span><\/p>\n

European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner also believes that the idea of returning Ukrainians to their homeland makes sense.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in a situation where Ukrainian men and women in Europe have temporary protection, and we have called on member states to start thinking now about what will happen next, what will come after this temporary protection status, which is valid until 2027,\u201d the official said.<\/span><\/p>\n

He added that Germany must do everything to ensure that Ukrainian citizens return and actively participate in the reconstruction process.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recall that Germany will reduce the amount of cash assistance for Ukrainian refugees<\/a> who arrived in the country after April 1, 2025.<\/p>\n
