The Ukrainian power grid is in its worst state since the start of this winter. Partial emergency power outages are being implemented in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and the Dnipropetrovsk region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, power transmission disruptions arose following Russian strikes on high-voltage infrastructure. Power engineers explain that the constant shelling has made the power grid increasingly vulnerable. On the night of January 11, a power outage occurred in the region, leaving a significant portion of the region, with the exception of the Kryvyi Rih district, without power.<\/p>\n

As of this morning, power workers have managed to restore critical infrastructure. For now, the region is not implementing weather-based outage schedules.<\/p>\n

In Kyiv, Russian troops attacked power generation facilities during a period of severe frost, when the grid load is at its highest. Emergency outages continue in parts of the Pechersky and Holosiivskyi districts, as well as on the Left Bank of the capital. Power grids there are inoperative.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Kyiv region, severe weather conditions have added to the aftermath of enemy attacks to severe damage to power grids. According to Mykola Kalashnik, head of the Kyiv Regional Police Department, frost, icy conditions, ice on trees and power lines, as well as fallen trees blocking access to power lines, significantly complicate and slow down restoration efforts. In many cases, repair crews are forced to reach damaged areas on foot, in challenging weather conditions.<\/p>\n

Currently, 187 repair crews are working around the clock in the region. Since January 9, power workers have already restored power to over 370,000 families.<\/p>\n

Around 30,000 households are still without power. The situation remains most dire in the Obukhiv, Fastiv, and Bucha districts. Emergency outages also remain in effect in the Boryspil and Brovary districts.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, in the Kyiv region, nearly 98,000 homes remain without power due to severe weather and enemy attacks.<\/a> The worst situation is reported in the Bucha, Obukhiv, and Fastiv districts.<\/p>\n

As is known, critical infrastructure in Kyiv has been damaged following a massive combined attack by the enemy. Nearly 6,000 apartment buildings are without heat<\/a> , and water supply interruptions are also being reported in the city.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of January 9, Kyiv was subjected to a massive combined attack by enemy drones<\/a> , damaging residential buildings and infrastructure in several districts of the city. According to official reports, four people were killed, and dozens more residents and emergency services workers were injured.<\/p>\n
