The European Solidarity faction demands that the Minister of Veterans Affairs, Natalia Kalmykova, be summoned to the Verkhovna Rada so that she can publicly explain the circumstances of the employment and reservation from mobilization of the government’s political strategist, Volodymyr Petrov, at the state institution “National Memorial War Cemetery”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> Iryna Gerashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, commenting on the journalistic investigation of MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak<\/a> .<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Gerashchenko, these are individuals who have worked for years on information attacks against the opposition, anti-corruption agencies, and investigative journalists, and have now received a reservation from mobilization and work in an institution that is supposed to take care of the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“We are shocked that Bankova’s information killers Petrov and Ivanov, who worked at Mindich’s company “Kinokit” and on the Rada TV channel, have now “moved” to the National War Memorial Cemetery. It is the height of cynicism to call them information policy specialists,” Iryna Gerashchenko emphasized.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

She emphasized that these people have repeatedly mocked the memory of the deceased MP Oleh Barna, attacked the families of the military, and demonstrated a complete lack of empathy.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“People who have no respect for the families of the fallen defenders are working and booked into an institution that should be a symbol of national memory,” the MP noted.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Gerashchenko questioned the actions of the leadership of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, which, instead of supporting veterans and helping with their rehabilitation, actually carries out Bankova’s political whims.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“There is a big question as to why the minister, who is supposed to take care of veterans, is hiring information killers for the government instead of helping those who returned from the front,” she said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Separately, Gerashchenko drew attention to the fact that another person involved in the investigation works in structures related to Mindich’s business and Energoatom.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“They receive money for serving Bankova and for information attacks on the opposition, and at the same time have the status of almost civil servants. These are double standards that the parliament should discuss harshly and publicly,” the co-chair of the European Solidarity faction concluded.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced the booking of public commentators and hosts of the YouTube channel “Icelandia” Volodymyr Petrov and Serhiy Ivanov, who publicly criticize opponents of the head of the President’s Office.<\/a><\/p>\n
