In the Black Sea off the Russian coast, drones attacked four oil tankers heading to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by Reuters, citing eight sources.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 13, near the Russian Black Sea coast. All of the affected vessels are owned by Greek shipowners and were en route to load oil at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the agency, the Delta Harmony tanker was to load Kazakh-produced oil. Another vessel, the Matilda, is operated by the Greek company Thenamaris and was to receive oil from the Karachaganak field.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

One source confirmed that the Matilda tanker was hit by two drones while waiting about 30 miles from the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to a company representative, there were no injuries, and the vessel suffered minor damage to the deck structures and is fully repairable. Maritime safety sources also reported a fire on board, which was quickly extinguished.<\/p>\n

Drones also attacked two other oil tankers – the Freud, operated by the Greek company TMS, and the Delta Supreme, operated by Delta Tankers. All strikes were recorded near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal.<\/p>\n

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline transports oil to the Pivdenna Ozereyevka terminal in the Black Sea near Novorossiysk in southern Russia.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the United Kingdom is preparing to forcibly intercept tankers of the so-called “shadow fleet” that transport oil in circumvention of international sanctions.<\/a><\/p>\n
