Ten of them were later transferred to Russia as part of a prisoner of war exchange. In total, 1,059 people have been brought to criminal responsibility in war crimes cases.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"615\" data-end=\"767\"> Among those convicted are military personnel involved in the killings of civilians, shelling of residential areas, looting, torture, and executions of prisoners of war.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"1093\"> In particular, four Russian servicemen \u2014 Valentin Bych, Maksym Volvak, Mykhailo Ivanov, and Ruslan Kolesnikov \u2014 were convicted of cruel treatment of civilians in the village of Borova, Kharkiv region. The Kotelevsky District Court of Poltava region sentenced them to 11 years in prison each. All three were later transferred to the Russian Federation during exchanges.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1270\"> Two more \u2014 Oleksandr Bobykin and Oleksandr Ivanov \u2014 received 11 years and 6 months in prison each for shelling the village of Kozacha Lopan in the Kharkiv region with a Grad MLRS. Both were also exchanged.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1272\" data-end=\"1534\"> Separate sentences relate to the intentional killings of civilians and prisoners of war. In particular, Radik Ghukasyan was sentenced to 12 years in prison for shooting down a civilian car in the Kyiv region, and Vadym Shyshymarin was sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing a civilian in the Sumy region.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1536\" data-end=\"1803\"> Two Russian servicemen \u2014 Dmitry Kurashov and Sergey Tuzhilov \u2014 received life sentences.
