Political strategist and host of the YouTube channel “Icelandia” Volodymyr Petrov left his position at the state institution “National War Memorial Cemetery” of his own free will.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the National Museum of the Crimea.<\/p>\n

According to the institution, Petrov held the position of leading specialist in the communications and information technology department and was officially dismissed on January 20, 2026 in accordance with Article 38 of the Labor Code of Ukraine. The dismissal procedure took place on the basis of a personal application and was carried out in full accordance with current legislation.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak previously reported that Petrov and media figure Serhiy Ivanov had reservations for mobilization since July 2025<\/a> , which were issued by different organizations. In particular, Petrov had a reservation from the National Military and Communications Complex, where he worked as a communications and IT specialist.<\/p>\n

Following these reports, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine launched an internal investigation into the situation with Petrov’s protection from mobilization. The head of the ministry, Nataliya Kalmykova, confirmed to deputies in the Verkhovna Rada that the investigation is already underway.<\/p>\n

At the same time , the NVMK confirmed that Petrov indeed worked in the communications and information technology department<\/a> and left the position of his own free will.<\/p>\n

As reported, at the State Institution “National War Memorial Cemetery” , among those responsible for booking employees, the director of the National War Memorial Cemetery, Yaroslav Pronyutkin, is listed – a longtime friend of the founder and host of the YouTube channel “Icelandia” Vladimir Petrov.<\/a><\/p>\n
