The Security Service of Ukraine has opened a criminal case for high treason against the host of the Iceland channel, Volodymyr Petrov.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported by<\/span><\/a> People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, criminal proceedings were registered on January 14, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCitizen of Ukraine Petrov V.V., being a blogger, TV presenter, and also a producer of LLC \u201cLumpen Production\u201d, acting to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, defense capability, state, economic and information security of Ukraine, using his own media resources, namely the media projects \u201cIceland\u201d, \u201cSchool of Corruption\u201d and \u201cLumpen Show\u201d, provided a foreign state \u2014 the Russian Federation, with assistance in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine, thereby committing high treason under martial law,\u201d the ERDR states.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is noted that in his speeches, Petrov denied the invasion of regular Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine. He pointed out that the war is a civil war, and the terrorist organizations “DPR” and “LPR” are state entities with their own authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the host promoted the idea of abandoning Ukrainian state symbols, allegedly for \u201creconciliation,\u201d and conducted informational and psychological operations to disrupt mobilization in Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that Petrov and media figure Serhiy Ivanov had reservations against mobilization since July 2025<\/a> , which were issued by different organizations.<\/p>\n

Following these reports, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine launched an internal investigation into the situation with Petrov’s protection from mobilization. The head of the ministry, Nataliya Kalmykova, confirmed to deputies in the Verkhovna Rada that the investigation is already underway.<\/p>\n

At the same time , the NVMK confirmed that Petrov indeed worked in the communications and information technology department<\/a> and left the position of his own free will.<\/p>\n

It later became known that Petrov left his position at the state institution “National War Memorial Cemetery”<\/a> of his own free will.<\/p>\n
