The critical situation in Kyiv continues due to Russian attacks: according to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, about 600,000 residents left the capital after the attacks on January 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Due to damage to the city’s infrastructure, 5,600 apartment buildings are currently without heating, and in some apartments the water in the toilets has frozen to the point that residents cannot use the bathrooms.<\/p>\n

“Not everyone has the opportunity to leave the city, but the population is decreasing,” Klitschko emphasized. The mayor once again called on Kyiv residents to temporarily leave the capital if possible due to the threat of disconnection of basic utilities: heating, water supply, and electricity.<\/p>\n

Klitschko noted that the actions of Russian forces could lead to a humanitarian catastrophe, as their goal is to force people to freeze in the winter.<\/p>\n

Recall, on the night of Tuesday, January 20, Russia carried out another attack on Kyiv<\/a> . An air alert was declared in the capital at 01:30 \u2014 the reason was the threat of the use of strike drones. Later, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned Kyiv residents of a possible launch of ballistic missiles.<\/p>\n

As reported, after the nighttime Russian attack on Kyiv on January 20, which involved missiles and drones, more than 5,600 multi-story buildings were left without heat<\/a> .
