Not surprising, not sudden\u2014just steady and predictable increases.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"480\" data-end=\"820\">The reasons are entirely grounded in reality: <strong data-start=\"526\" data-end=\"589\">Russian shelling, energy shortages, and logistical failures<\/strong>. Added to this is the <strong data-start=\"612\" data-end=\"649\">fall in the hryvnia exchange rate<\/strong>, which automatically makes any product with an imported component more expensive. And there are more such products on the market than we used to admit publicly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"822\" data-end=\"1040\">Eggs are drawing particular attention. Forecasts indicate they could see record price increases in January\u2013February 2026, with prices expected to rise by around 10% in just two months.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1177\">Eggs had seen a 10.8% price increase over the course of 2025. Moreover, the most rapid month-to-month growth occurred at the end of the year:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1266\">\n<li data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1215\">\n<p data-start=\"1180\" data-end=\"1215\"><strong data-start=\"1180\" data-end=\"1191\">October<\/strong> \u2013 +11% month-on-month<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1216\" data-end=\"1241\">\n<p data-start=\"1218\" data-end=\"1241\"><strong data-start=\"1218\" data-end=\"1230\">November<\/strong> \u2013 +12.6%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1242\" data-end=\"1266\">\n<p data-start=\"1244\" data-end=\"1266\"><strong data-start=\"1244\" data-end=\"1256\">December<\/strong> \u2013 +5.6%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t<aside class=\"shortcode-also\" data-title=\"Read also\" >\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/en\/the-government-is-actually-punishing-businesses-for-blackouts-entrepreneurs-appeal\/\">Blackout Backlash: Government Penalizes Businesses Amid Power Cuts<\/a>\n\t<\/aside>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The rise in egg prices in Ukraine is outpacing incomes, economic stability, and trust in official forecasts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"73\" data-end=\"233\">Vegetables are not far behind. After a seasonal decline during the summer, prices have been rising again since October. The monthly increases were as follows:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"73\" data-end=\"233\">\n<p data-start=\"73\" data-end=\"233\">\n<ul data-start=\"234\" data-end=\"308\">\n<li data-start=\"234\" data-end=\"258\">\n<p data-start=\"236\" data-end=\"258\"><strong data-start=\"236\" data-end=\"247\">October<\/strong> \u2013 +10.4%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"283\">\n<p data-start=\"261\" data-end=\"283\"><strong data-start=\"261\" data-end=\"273\">November<\/strong> \u2013 +4.6%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"284\" data-end=\"308\">\n<p data-start=\"286\" data-end=\"308\"><strong data-start=\"286\" data-end=\"298\">December<\/strong> \u2013 +0.8%<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"445\">A key factor here is the weakening of the hryvnia, which quickly translates the cost of imported components into higher shelf prices.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"131\" data-end=\"489\">Even bread\u2014a product traditionally considered socially sensitive\u2014has not escaped the trend. Prices are expected to rise by <strong data-start=\"254\" data-end=\"274\">1.5\u20132% per month. <\/strong>Over the course of 2025, bread prices increased by 13.5%.
