In Kryvyi Rih, mine rescuers brought workers to the surface from two mines that were trapped underground due to a power outage following Russian shelling of the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The State Emergency Service reported this.<\/p>\n

A Russian drone attack on January 22 knocked out power to one of the mines where miners were located at depths of -1,135, 865, and 475 meters. Due to the power outage, the workers could not be rescued using standard methods.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Mine rescuers decided to evacuate workers on foot from vertical and inclined workings. Accompanied by State Emergency Service specialists, the miners traversed approximately 7 kilometers of underground routes. The rescue operation lasted approximately six hours.<\/p>\n

After midnight, another power outage shut down another mine, with 92 workers inside. This time, rescuers followed a tried-and-tested method: hoisting the workers using the counterweight principle of the mine cage. The operation was completed within four hours.<\/p>\n

All the miners are now on the surface. The State Emergency Service noted that the miners are somewhat exhausted, but are feeling well and are happy to be back home.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of January 22, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with attack drones<\/a> , including people in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odessa regions.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, as a result of the Russian attack on the Odessa region, a young man born in 2009 died<\/a> .<\/p>\n
