US President Donald Trump’s new initiative to create a “Peace Council” is reminiscent of previous unrealized ideas of the Ukrainian authorities regarding world congresses, which never yielded results, because such structures are devoid of fundamental ideas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This opinion was expressed<\/a> on the air of “Pryamoy” by the chairman of the board of the “Narodny Tyl” charitable foundation, Heorhiy Tuka.<\/p>\n

“From my point of view, this is nothing more than another soap bubble. In terms of context and content, it is somewhat similar to the soap bubble that Yermak and Zelensky fed us when there was such an idea, whether it was a world peace forum or a world peace congress,” Tuka noted.<\/p>\n

The studio guest is convinced that there can be no common values between the democratic world and the aggressor. He considers the creation of such a council to be an exclusively demonstrative step that has no basis.<\/p>\n

Tuka also suggested that such formats are used to attract significant funds under high-profile slogans, although the actual principles for achieving peace have not been announced. He compared the situation surrounding this new formation to financial pyramids, where people are offered to pay huge sums for entry.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the public figure expressed a pessimistic forecast regarding the timing of the end of hostilities, emphasizing that there are currently no objective grounds even for the cessation of the active phase of clashes, since the Kremlin continues to make territorial demands.<\/p>\n

“Russia will continue to implement the goals of the SVO until a territorial decision is made. Period. So tell me, please, after such a comment, is it worth it, well, we can hope, of course, but are there any objective grounds?” – Tuka noted.<\/p>\n

According to him, the Russian leadership is not interested in peace, but in the negotiation process itself, since such tactics allow the aggressor to avoid the introduction of new effective sanctions by Ukraine’s international partners.<\/p>\n

Tuka noted that while discussions on various points and agreements are ongoing, Russia is actually gaining room for maneuver. In his opinion, the proposed peace structures often do not take into account Moscow’s real position, which is aimed at continuing the war until its conditions are met.<\/p>\n

Let us recall that in Davos, a ceremony was held to establish the international organization “Peace Council”<\/a> , initiated by US President Donald Trump. According to him, the permanent members of the organization should participate in financing, paying a contribution of $ 1 billion each. Despite the expectation that a larger number of people would join the organization, only about 20 countries<\/a> became members of the “Peace Council”.<\/p>\n

In contrast, most European Union countries have rejected US President Donald Trump’s invitation<\/a> to join the Peace Council. Europe fears that the newly created structure could replace the UN as the key international forum for resolving global conflicts. The EU has also been concerned by the invitation to the Peace Council of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n

By the way, Russia has responded positively to US President Donald Trump’s initiative<\/a> to create the so-called Peace Council. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow has already received specific proposals, including a draft charter for the Peace Council. According to him, this initiative, in the opinion of the Russian side, indicates a change in Washington’s approaches.<\/p>\n
