Political scientist Stanislav Zhelikhovsky commented on<\/a> the statement of American General Keith Kellogg on “Pryamoye” that real negotiations could begin in the spring, and hostilities would subside closer to the fall. The spring period could be fateful if the parties manage to find common ground during the next rounds of consultations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zhelikhovsky considers such a scenario possible, but warns against excessive optimism, since everything depends on the presence of real compromise points.<\/p>\n

According to him, during the current winter, Russia is trying to raise the stakes as much as possible, using the abnormal cold to terrorize Ukrainian citizens.<\/p>\n

“The winter is really difficult and probably the coldest in the years of full-scale aggression. And Putin waited for such a winter. In previous years, we still had it easier in this regard. And now we see that the winter is really cold, frosty, and Putin is obviously ready to raise the stakes even more, terrorizing the Ukrainian state,” the studio guest emphasized.<\/p>\n
