However, no agreements were reached on the territorial aspects.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbc.ua\/rus\/news\/e-progres-ale-teritoriyah-rbk-ukrayina-z-1769279789.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">RBC-Ukraine<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p> According to an informed source, the negotiations generally ended with a constructive outcome. The source noted that this was the first real trilateral meeting involving representatives of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia.<\/p>\n<p> The first day of the talks was introductory, while the delegations worked in an expanded format on the second day. After that, the parties decided to split into two subgroups \u2014 political and military \u2014 and conduct the discussions in parallel.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;In fact, the two sections conducted negotiations separately. Today, the Russian representatives behaved adequately. But this is their established negotiation tactic: at first they start abruptly, and already at the second stage everything goes more constructively. Today, the conversation was different,&#8221; the interlocutor said.<\/p>\n<p> According to him, no significant progress has been made in the political subgroup. Ukraine insists that the territorial issue can be discussed based at least on the current contact line, while the Russian side continues to demand the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the unoccupied part of the Donetsk region.<\/p>\n<p> At the same time, in the military subgroup, the parties managed to make progress in discussions. In particular, the following issues were discussed:<\/p>\n<ul><\/p>\n<li> the possibility of disengagement of forces;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> mechanisms for monitoring the cessation of hostilities;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> conditions and definition of the ceasefire;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> creation of a ceasefire control and coordination center;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> possible participation of individual countries in such a center.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p> According to the agreement, the military subgroup is to prepare definitions of key terms within a week, including what will be considered a cessation of hostilities, a ceasefire, and their violations. The parties plan to exchange these developments at the next meeting.<\/p>\n<p> It is also reported that the Russian delegation initially stated its reluctance to involve NATO, the OSCE, or European countries that support Ukraine in the monitoring and operation of the control center.<\/p>\n<p> Separately, the interlocutor noted that the issue of an energy truce was not discussed during the talks in Abu Dhabi. The parties agreed to continue the negotiations in the same format in about a week.<\/p>\n<p> We would like to add that <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/i-putin-i-zelenskyy-pohodylysia-nazvana-data-nastupnykh-trystoronnikh-perehovoriv-v-abu-dabi\/\">the next round of trilateral talks involving the US, Ukraine and Russia will take place on February 1 in Abu Dhabi<\/a> .
